The HMUA will have a Ribbon Cutting to celebrtate the startup of the 31.7kW Solar Array at the Water Pollution Control Facility. The ceremony will be Thursday October 6th at 10 AM. All are welcome. Construction continues on the 30 kilowatt Solar Array at HMUA's Water Pollution Control Plant. The Solar Panels are now in place and electrical conduit has been installed. Upon completion of the electric wiring, testing and approval by inspectors and the electric company, the system will be operational and producing power. The construction of a 30 kw Solar Array has begun at HMUA's Water Pollution Control Plant. Electricity produced by the Array will reduce the amount of power necessary from the electric grid and reduce costs. Watch for further updates during the next several weeks. Where can you find a power source that's clean, cheap and lasts forever? Bruce Smith, Executive Director of the Hackettstown Municipal Utilities Authority (HMUA), has found one - the sun. The HMUA announced today that is has partnered with HelioSage, LLC, a solar energy service provider, to host a solar photovoltaic (PV) array at the wastewater treatment facility. The HMUA received approval from the NJ Clean Energy Program to conduct an Energy Audit. The Audit is being performed in conjunction with the NJ Local Government Energy Audit Program. The Program provides for reimbursement of 75 percent of the cost of the Energy Audit. The remaining 25 percent will also be reimbursed if the applicant implements recommended energy audit upgrades with a net investment cost that meets or exceeds the remaining 25 percent portion of the Audit cost.
